The evolution of technology has exerted a massive impact on our ecosystem. Technology adoption has no doubt upgraded our living but has also given rise to many environmental complications. The world has come together with futuristic ideas and endeavors to bring a balance between environment and development. Continuous efforts are being made to co-create an ecosystem where technology is being used for the wellbeing of nature while enabling a comprehensive digital life.

Two software engineers, Chinnayya Math and Vaishali Math shared a common vision of exploring the possibilities of science and technology to enable sustainable development. Through Nimble Vision, a Bangalore based startup, the husband-wife duo gave shape to their dream of conserving natural resources by raising peoples’ awareness about energy and water consumption.  They came up with the idea of using massive data analytics, insights, IoT & AI to develop cost-effective gadgets that can help every household, farmer, and industry know about the water availability in the overhead tankers and underground.

Nimble Vision is among the 12 startups that are part of the sixth edition of Qualcomm Design in India Challenge (QDIC) – an initiative to encourage design houses and product companies to invent useful and innovative hardware products designs incorporating Qualcomm SoC platforms and technologies. The startup is bestowed with the opportunity to convert its design submissions into workable prototypes under the mentorship of industry experts, utilizing the Qualcomm® Innovation Lab infrastructure.

About their Offerings!

Nimble Vision contrived a unique IoT-enabled platform “Ni” that provides users with pertinent analytics and insights that helps users keep a check on the availability and consumption of water and the different kinds of energy. To cater the requirement from each dimension, the team has employed their product development strategies, B2B & B2C models in devising a series of relevant CE certified solutions categorized as:

  • Ni Water Saviour: A smart water level controller and meter for Individual homes, apartments, and industries. It send live water tank status, hourly break up of consumption each day and post consumption history on the users mobile app. This solution can help save up to 50 per cent water and electricity.
  • Ni Flow Water: These are wireless water meters that allows users to remotely observe the water flow.
  • Ni Sensu: A uniquely crafted retrofit technology, Ni Sensu monitors the purity, usage and wastage of drinking water. It also reduces the differences between the purifier vendor and customer by providing them real time info that bolsters management services.

  • Ni Pool Pal: This smart solution is systemized to enable swimming pool management via Mobile app. It helps in remotely controlling pool lights, extracting complete diagnostic information, checking water level quality and recycling the pool water.

  • Ni E-Charge: Nimble vision teamed up with Sakra Power Controls to develop Ni E-Charge-an EV charge station setup for bikes and cars. It extends OME support, fleet management, connected vehicles info, and enables remote monitoring.

The best part of the Ni platform is that it connects vendors and end customers in real time. Helps vendors monitor to their purifiers, water ATMS, pools remotely on mobile and web dashboards with centralized dashboards. The customers and vendors have access to same data. The analytics are about water consumption, quality, and system diagnostic info. Ni platform also includes service ticket and service engineer management too.

This IoT-based startup has remained proactive in inventing befitting technology solutions to assist organizations to maintain COVID safety protocols. The startup designed a mobile-based battery-powered wireless temperature scanner, speech and face recognizer called Ni-Varak. It facilitates contactless attendance with excel data, records temperature on daily basis, and sends smart notifications on detecting high fever. It can be remotely accessed via App, Web, and Alexa.

Owing to the environmentalist values, Nimble Vision paid heed to solve the manhole challenges and channelizing the sewage infrastructure in cities. The startup in collaboration with the Digital control system (Faridabad) created the Ni-The Smart Manhole Monitor-a smart IoT with AI solution is capable of molding smart manholes. These are equipped with submersible sensors and GSM technology which reads and sends real-time switch levels from inside the manhole, helping the municipal corporation enhance detect the sewage water qualities by distinguishing the presence of harmful gases. The best thing about Nimble Vision is that all its applications can be easily connected to mobile & web which makes it user-oriented and comprehensible.

The Journey so far:

Team Nimble Vision believes in responsible consumption of natural resources is the only way to build a sustainable society. In four years, the Bangalore-based startups have deployed around 263 devices, helped monitor 23, 76,60,639 liters of consumed water, and save up to 7,12,98,192 liters of water. Observing a customer-centric approach, Nimble Vision has served leading organizations such as Reynolds, SHAHI, Colive, Hill County, Proion, and many others. The startup celebrates its success in being adopted and deployed on apartments and complexes in Bangalore and across cities. They have a B2B customer from Indonesia too.

The startup has participated in many significant challenges and events such as BTS 2020 (Bengaluru Tech Summit), Wetex, Water Expo and has won a horde of awards including BCIC’s Inclusive Innovation Award under Women lead Social Impact Category June 2018, NITI Aayog – Pune Smart City, Hackathon 2018 Award for Smart Water Management – October 2018, Renesys GR Lychee Design Award December 2018, Karnataka Elevate award 2019, BWSSB award for water conservation 2020, 5G – In Top 30 of 5G Hackathon 2020 and others.

The Road Map

5G is on the anvil and Nimble Vision is all set to embrace the new generation technology with open arms. Nimble Vision has already developed a  prototype for smart water management for Jal-Mishan project integrating a Qualcomm SoC based 5G module from a third party vendor. Nimble Vision is working on a unique solution, which will reduce the water hardness electronically. This feature will be an integral part of the existing solutions.
