The founders of Dozee Mudit Dandwate and Gaurav Parchani saw a unique opportunity in this market. They founded Dozee with the end in view to puzzle out the complexities in the healthcare sector and take the remote patient monitoring methods to the next level.

Dozee is acknowledged as India’s first holistic contactless remote health monitoring platform. True to its form, Dozee has pioneered a nifty, safe and contactless remote patient monitoring and early warning system that is playing an eminent role in improving patient outcomes at hospitals and at homes. Dozee is based in Ballistocardiography (BCG) technology which is a non-invasive method of tracings pulsation from every body movement. Users can place the device under the mattress of the ICU bed and connect it to the internet. The AI algorithms of Dozee keeps monitoring the vital parameters including respiratory rate, heart rate, sleep, cardiac performance matrix, oxygen saturation, blood pressure and so forth.

Based on the trends, this advanced health intelligent system generates an Early Warning Score that aids in early detection of health problems and clinical deterioration that gives doctors and patients some extra time in the decision-making process, helping them to figure out the best treatment and save lives.

Dozee is one of the 14 start-ups on boarded with the India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre. The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre is a tripartite collaboration between AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Jodhpur and The Swedish Trade & Invest Council with strong governance from Ministry of Health and Family welfare, India, Ministry of Health and Social Justice, Sweden, ICMR and knowledge partner AstraZeneca. This was formed to develop a cross-country ecosystem of open innovation and acts as a growth catalyst for start-ups in Sweden and India.

 

 

Dozee’s Early Warning system helps hospitals with digitalization of vitals monitoring, critical care outreach automation, improved clinical outcomes & patient safety and maximum ICU bed throughput. This framework reduces the manual effort and the time spent by nurses in monitoring the readings of each patient. On an average, a nurse spends around 35 to 40 minutes on one patient.  Dozee helps nurses save their nursing time and assist doctors take the edge off analyze the manually maintained records.

The five year old India based startup has monitored above 41000 patients, saved more than 2000 lives, helped nurse save over 100,000 nursing hours, and has been approved and tested by over 250 hospitals.

We have worked with best doctors, hospitals and healthcare providers in the country for several years to understand the sector and mitigate the gap between health, patients and healthcare needs. Our aim is to develop medical technologies that are accessible, affordable and user-friendly, and fits the needs of the patients and the doctors. The goal to enable quality healthcare service and helping nurses reduce the time invested monitoring each patient. We are at a stage where we enable 3 successful ICU transfers for every 100 patients monitored by Dozee every day,” says Mudit Dandwate, CEO and Co-Founder of Dozee.

 

 

Dozee’s high potential have received attention of prospective investors and partners. The company has established collaboration with leading medical organizations like the National Institute of mental Health & Neuro Sciences, Sparsh Hospital and Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, AIIMS Jodhpur. It has recently, partnered with the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital and Government Medical College in Nagpur where about 150 Dozee devices were deployed across 6 surgical HDU wards.

 Founded in 2015, this Bangalore headquartered startup has bagged ₹12.5 crore from Prime Venture Partners, YourNest Venture Capital and 3One4 Capital in the year 2020. In 2021, the company ₹44 crore Series A funding led by existing investor Prime Venture Partners which was also participated by YourNest Venture Capital and 3one4 Capital. It plans to use this funding to expand and improvise its HDU ward monitoring, home monitoring, and to deliver a cloud-enabled continuum of care in all parts of India.

For the time to come, the firm intends to explore new markets opportunities in the global market. It is also looking forward in initiating partnership with hospitals and healthcare institutes in Tier II and small cities. In the view of the post COVID healthcare scenario, Dozee gears itself to explore the prospects of AI in management of chronic conditions and geriatric population from home.
