Over the past few decades, India has experienced a notable surge in agricultural technology, attributed to the incredible effort of countless innovators like Amandeep Panwar and Rishabh Choudhary who have been tirelessly pushing the boundaries, perpetuating ongoing transformations within the sector which has been hailed as the backbone of the nation’s economy.

Driven by this vision of disrupting conventional agriculture through innovation and technology, they planted the seeds of BharatRohan- Revitalizing Indian agriculture by enabling farmers to grow profitably for a sustainable & safe food supply chain. The core objective of the team is to reinforce the Agri-value chain by uniting farmers, seed growers, and corporates by leveraging unmanned Aerial vehicles (UAV)/drone -based hyperspectral imagery to ensure harvest optimization and augment profitability.

MeitY nasscom CoE has played a pivotal role in shaping BharatRohan’s journey. CoE has been the driving force behind providing invaluable support, allowing BharatRohan to showcase their services to a wide spectrum of industry partners, stakeholders, and expanding their reach within the agricultural sector. CoE helped BharatRohan deploy drone-based crop monitoring services in Kaithal, Haryana, and establish a fruitful partnership with the NGO SVM in Meghalaya.

“CoE stands as a beacon of support and opportunity for us, broadening our invaluable assistance present our services to a diverse range of industry partners and stakeholders,” commented Rishabh Choudhary, Co-Founder, BharatRohan.

Their drone-based crop monitoring initiative in Kaithal is a meticulously designed project with the objective of empowering farmers to enhance and fine-tune their crop management practices, ultimately reducing crop loss and increasing crop yields. These drones are designed to collect valuable data and essential information on crop health, water usage, and soil conditions. Farmers can harness these drones for field mapping, that allows farmers to identify areas needing different care and attention. This capability aids in minimizing input costs and enhancing the overall efficiency of farming practices. Additionally, the drones equip farmers with real-time crop data, helping them to make informed decisions on planting, irrigation, and harvesting, ultimately leading to enhanced profitability.

The drone-based crop monitoring project in Kaithal has exhibited great potential and promise. The team is positive about bringing further advancements and developments in these initiatives with the purpose to provide additional favourable outcomes for farmers in the region.

“We have deployed our drone to address different scenarios, one of which was to map a field of wheat and identify areas that were waterlogged. This information was used to adjust the irrigation schedule, which resulted in a 10 per cent increase in crop yield. In yet another situation, our drones are employed to detect pest infestation in a field of cotton. This early detected and treatment will help the farmers take proactive measures and save the crops from significant damage,” said Amandeep Panwar,Founder, BharatRohan.

The startup has further categorized their offerings into:
